The Cooperation Agreement Signing Ceremony between World Tourism Forum Institute (WTFI) and D-8 was held in Istanbul on 31 August 2020 with the participation of D-8 Ambassador Dato Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari and WTFI President Bulut Bağcı.
D-8 countries Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Turkey are expected to increase investment and cooperation opportunities with the agreement signed between WTFI and D-8.
WTFI will play a significant role in increasing the recognition and business contacts of the D-8 strategy. In this context, signing a cooperation agreement with WTFI, which enables more detailed evaluation of possible investment opportunities in D-8 countries, is of great importance in terms of international company representatives participating in WTFI events to get more shares from infrastructure projects in D-8 countries.
D-8 representatives said that companies that will invest could be accessed more easily through WTFI. Stating that there are many sectors in D-8 countries, Bulut Bağcı said, “May the agreement be beneficial for both D-8 and WTFI. I believe that both trade and investment opportunities will increase with this agreement. We can develop projects in various sectors. From this, I think everyone will win.”
D-8 Secretary-General, Dato ‘Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari said, “Thanks to the agreement we have made with WTFI, our investment relations will be accelerated. Primarily, development and employment in the tourism sector will be provided”.
