Luis Maroto

Luis Maroto became President and CEO of Amadeus on January 1, 2011. He first joined Amadeus in 2000 as Director of Marketing Finance, after starting his professional career with the Bertelsmann Group, holding various managerial positions. In his first role within the company, he played a key part in supporting Amadeus’ commercial organization throughout its international expansion and consolidation, supervising the strategic and financial control of over 50 Amadeus subsidiaries around the world. In 2003 he was appointed Chief Financial Officer, taking responsibility for the global Amadeus Finance organization. During this time, he successfully oversaw the company’s first IPO, while the business continued its international expansion and diversification strategy. In 2009 Luis became Deputy CEO of Amadeus, with responsibility for overall company strategy as well as line management of the finance, internal audit, legal and human resources functions. He was instrumental in Amadeus’ return to the stock market with the company’s successful IPO in April 2010. In 2011, he became President and CEO. Under his leadership, the company has diversified and expanded – his focus being on driving the company’s growth while supporting the IT and distribution needs of customers across the travel sector. A Spanish citizen, Luis holds a degree in Law from the Complutense University, Madrid, an MBA from the IESE Business School and further postgraduate qualifications from Harvard Business School and Stanford.
