The President of the Republic, H.E. João Lourenço, opened international golf tournament at Campo dos Mangais, Barra do Kwanza with a second low shot on 17 May 2019. With a shot at a hole, the head of state opened the Presidential Golf Day golf tournament.

The sporting event is part of the “Global Tourism Forum,” which took place in Luanda from 23-25 May 2019.  With the “Presidential Golf Day,” Angola pursued contact with businesses to create alliances in the Executive Program’s sense for the Diversification of the National Economic. The event was attended by over 50 athletes from the Southern African Development Community (SADC), the U.K., Japan, and Turkey.

The President has said that improving the country’s reputation would boost the corporate climate through these two International Activities, Global Tourism Forum Angola 2019 and Presidential Golf Day, thus attracting foreign direct investment.

He called for tourist companies, big hotel chains, and world opinion leaders to see not only Angola’s tourism potential but also its existing limitations and the massive challenges the country is facing.

João Lourenço said that in Angola’s tourism, the market prospects emerge from a multi-sector operation that establishes a connection with every active entity in the economy.

The Executive Director reports that the government’s multi-faceted, cross-cutting nature ensures that nearly all State administrative and local governments are active in the tourism business.

The President applied to fields such as the environment, education, finance, public service, community planning, housing, protection, and health.

New editions of Presidential Golf Day will be organized during GTF’s upcoming events.
